My personal mission
I’ve always danced, whether it was around the house, at the studio, or at competitions. I started choreographing numbers here and there for my dance studio’s productions when I was about fifteen and I fell in love. When I was introduced to theatre (dragged to my first audition by the high school theatre teacher because I was nervous), I couldn’t get enough. The kindness I was shown, even from competing troupes, was astounding to me because I had grown up in a competitive dance background that wasn’t so nice. The support I was shown as a beginner is what made me decide to keep going and ultimately lead me to getting a degree in Musical Theatre.
My personal mission is to spread the warm embrace that I received when trying a new hard thing for the first time. This is my biggest goal when teaching dance to kids of any age as well as preparing them for a professional world. Yes trying new things is scary, but the reward outweighs the struggles. The joy that they get from gaining confidence and knowledge throughout a rehearsal or class period is a wonderful feeling for me as their instructor!
Performance art is truly a magical thing and whether I’m onstage, backstage, or instructing, I love every minute of it!
